Expert Witness Services

At Objectivus, we provide a team of highly qualified financial experts who deliver clear, insightful and authoritative testimony in financial disputes. Our experts have a profound understanding of the financial services sector, backed by decades of experience in areas including market practice, complex financial instruments and trading methodologies.

Our experts have served as both trusted advisors and expert witnesses across various cases. With extensive knowledge of both the technical details and regulatory frameworks which govern financial markets, we excel in communicating complex concepts in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.

Depth and Breadth of Expertise

The strength of Objectivus lies in our team's diverse range of expertise, spanning trading, investment management, risk analysis, regulatory compliance and clearing and custody. This multidisciplinary approach allows us to tackle each case from multiple angles, ensuring comprehensive analysis and insights.

Engaging with Objectivus means gaining access to a team that is not only highly skilled in financial analysis but also highly effective at communicating intricate financial issues clearly and convincingly to legal professionals, judges and arbitrators which is crucial in helping non-experts grasp the core issues at play.

Commitment to Independence

Expert evidence in the UK is governed by Part 35 of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR), which emphasises the need for reliability, impartiality and efficiency. At Objectivus, we understand the critical importance of an expert’s duty to the court and strictly adhere to the requirements of independence, including the avoidance of any conflicts of interest. Our experts are committed to providing unbiased opinions that stand up to scrutiny.

Why Choose Objectivus in Financial Disputes?

Financial disputes often involve highly technical data, industry-specific terminology and complex financial products. Our experts specialise in breaking down these complexities into clear, concise language and then communicating matters clearly and convincingly in the courtroom.

However, our services extend beyond courtroom testimony. We also provide strategic advice that can shape case-preparation and execution. For example, engaging our experts for pre-litigation advice can lead to significant cost savings and streamline often lengthy judicial processes.

Furthermore, our experts are well-versed in rebutting and challenging the assumptions, methodologies and conclusions presented by opposing experts. By identifying flaws, biases, or errors in the opposition’s analysis, we help to reinforce the strengths of our clients' positions.

The Objectivus team have regularly advised on regulatory enforcement and investigations, insider trading, market abuse, FCA authorisations and financial crime.  For more information please contact srb@objectivus.com
